While we are all waiting bright-eyed and bushy tailed for Tommy Hilfiger’s Fall/Winter collection at the New York Fashion Week that kicked off today, there are some other exciting things happening just a few miles from New York in Los Angeles.
I’m telling you, if you are a die-hard fan of Tommy Hilfiger’s easy casual styles, then you don’t want to miss this one.
Today marked the launch of Tommy Hilfiger’s second Tommy x Gigi collection at the Venice Beach in Los Angeles. He launched his new spring see-now-buy-now collection, which primarily carried some of the themes of the Fall season as well. It brought a certain sportiness and beach mood to the occasion.
Tommy Hilfiger has always been known for his collections inspired by fashion from the music industry. Most of his collections are also marketed in association with celebrities from the music industry.
He began his career by launching a chain of clothing stores in New York around the 1970s by designing preppy sportswear for men. Later he ventured into women’s clothing and luxury items such as perfumes as well, which went public around the year 1992.
The brand’s international ambassador Gigi Hadid, whom the collection is also named after, obviously opened the show wearing a crop top and leather pants. Then the show progressed with a row of other top models such as Bella Hadid, Devon Windsor, Alanna Arrington etc.
Just as much as we all love and respect the international designer, Tommy Hilfiger seems to be extra considerate and respectful of his models, because all the models arrived in California on a private Air Tommy plane.
The launch show was star studded as usual, with celebrities like Lady gaga and Kris Jenner seated in the front row.
The second Tommy x Gigi collection is all about improvisation of their American themes from the fall line. It mainly consists of different styles of the logo-heavy pieces mixed with denim jackets, other kinds of outer wear and also swimwear.
To add a little more feminineness to the collection, there was also a range of printed bohemian dresses showcased at the closing.
What is a Los Angeles fashion show without some power-packed entertainment?
It was the one and only Fergie who performed at the show’s after-party dressed in a leather jacket and denim shorts. That brought a neat and classy end to the show.
