The highly coveted and much awaited awards night of Hollywood is in a few hours from now – The 89th Academy Awards 2017 or in the other words, the Oscars 2017.
While it is the last stop in terms of award shows, it certainly is another good reason for the leading ladies and fashion leaders of Hollywood to flaunt their best looks on the red carpet. As actors, directors and other artists involved in the big screen prepare to step out in some of the best creations of well-known designers, it is once again time for us to look up to our favorite stars and make notes on what to copy.
Most of the time, it is the attire that steels the attention of the people, but the fact is that no look is complete without the right make up and the right hairstyle to go with the attire. A classy pretty floor sweeping gown can look dull or even out-of-place without a glowy dewy face and an equally classy hair style.
So while we wait with our notepad for the show to begin tonight at 5:30 PM PST at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California, why don’t we take a look at some of the best, most memorable and iconic hair and makeup looks from the Academy Awards History?
Here are 5 best looks:
Audrey Hepburn in 1954
How can any beauty list be complete without the iconic Audrey Hepburn? She always arrived with her outfit, hair and makeup on point. She won Best Actress for her role in the movie Roman Holiday. Here she is with her award. Look how perfectly she pairs her dress with minimal makeup and let’s not forget, she is one person who can pull off thick brows and the 50’s to 60’s trend of short piece-y bangs to frame her face.
Winona Ryder in 1996
She pulled off with effortless confidence short finger waves to go with her graceful flapper inspired dress. She also matched it with art-deco inspired ear rings. She is still remembered for her chic style.
Gwyneth Paltrow in 1999
She showed us how monochromatic is done way back in 1999. She paired a very feminine looking pink Ralph Lauren dress with rosy cheeks as well as rosy lips. There were several shaded of pink, and we cannot get over how gorgeous she looked when she came up to accept her award.
Halle Berry in 2002
It goes without saying how many women across the globe idolized her for her short pixie haircut. She turned up for the 2002 Oscars in a beautiful see through Ellie Saab gown and showed us how perfect it can look with her short textured pixie haircut and barely there makeup.
Jennifer Anniston in 2009
Our very own Jen has always been known for her simplicity and class when it comes to red carpet looks. At the 2009 Oscars, she carried with her cool California spirit along with a beautiful gown and a single side braid tucked behind her golden beachy waves.
Now let’s wait and watch how many looks from tonight are gonna become history.
