Saint Laurent goes Sexy @Paris Fashion Week

Paris Fashion Week is amazing us with every new collection and the surprises seem to come one after an other. A show that really caught our eye was Saint Laurent’s and if you read ahead, you will definitely know why.

With almost a month since the first AW17 presentation took place at New York Fashion Week, there is the possibility that even the most devoted fashionistas might become a bit bored. Fortunately, Paris Fashion Week is home to the fashion industry’s greatest designers. The iconic Saint Laurent, which is currently under the creative direction of Anthony Vaccarello showed its latest collection and it was definitely something that no one should have missed.

Vaccarello continued to have many references to the retro eighties designs, however the AW17 collection had a more commercial vibe. Even though “commercial” usually makes us think about something negative, this show proved us wrong. This collection is a combination of both imagination and innovation. In addition, it offers women many designs that are truly irresistible, right?

What added to the accessibility of the collection was also the fresh and simple make-up that is easy to recreate by the average woman. Foregoing the elaborate hair and make-up that were present in previous seasons might have been the move to up Saint Laurent’s game in the highly competitive fashion industry.

The element that was most present on he runway was leather. It took the form of flying jackets, slouchy knee high boots and low waisted punk style pants, all in shades that ranged from teal to tar. The pieced were adorned with textured sheepskin, tactile knits softened denim and the smoothest-looking suede was the starting point for an incredible tunic dress with exaggerated fluted sleeves. They all meshed together in an incredible collection.

Saint Laurent’s collection is definitely one that is hard to top. We are looking forward however to see whether other shows manage to beat this one. What do you guys think? Will they succeed?
