It is not uncommon for actors, singers and other celebrities to step into a new field or area of their industry own industry. For example, there are many actors and actresses who are into film production or direction now, and we all know how great Jennifer Lopez, Priyanka Chopra and Selena Gomez are doing in both singing and acting.
Today we are going to be talking about one such field shift, or should I say field exploration by one of the top supermodels in the world; Cara Delevingne.
And no, she’s not going into acting or film production or anything of that sort. As against common societal (false) notion that models are always expected to be and do all pretty things and nothing really intelligent, Cara Delevingne is planning to release her own novel “Mirror Mirror” this year in October.
That’s right, the super model is foraying into writing and is very excited to be talking about her new novel. On Tuesday morning, Cara announced through her Instagram that she has completed her very first book.
About the book, she says in her post, “It’s a twisty coming of age story about 16 year old friends Red, Leo, Naima and Rose, who are all trying to figure out who they are and navigate the minefield of school and relationships.”
She also wrote, “The process of putting this novel together has been life changing and something I hold really close to my heart!! I cannot wait to share with everyone.”
So yes, the book is targeted towards the younger demographic.
The publisher of the book Anna Valentine also said that Cara wanted to write a book that resonated with her audience. She said, “She has an enormous following and is incredibly in touch with her followers, and she wanted to write a book that dealt with issues young people face today, and that was the thing that was really exciting for us.”
The co-author of the book happens to be Rowan Coleman, the author of the 2014 novel “The Memory Book”, so I’m already pretty sure that the book is likely to be the perfect combination of self-expression and narrative expertise.
Now even though the book is set to be releases in October this year, Cara Delevigne, who is a very social media savvy super model, is already making use of her reach in to pre-sales activities of her book release by planning to start a “virtual book club” with her fans. She is very excited to talk about the triumphs, the pain, the self-discovery and everything associated with being a teenager with her young fans. She said that it is these experiences that shape a person in life and need to be discussed.
Well, I’m pretty sure all of us are super excited about the novel. We can pre-order the book now, but we’ll have to wait till October. Till then, let’s look up to the book club shall we?
